Joel Carlson - Head Brewer
Born in Virginia, MN, probrewing since 2007, homebrewing since 2004, zombie slaying since 1981
After earning a B.S. Degree from North Dakota State University in 2005, I could no longer fight the craft brewing virus. So in 2007, I picked up my prescription to start brewing professionally with Great Waters Brewing Co. in St. Paul, MN. Today, the balance between science & art is still my cure. I am allowed to develop a beer up to my own representation, yet still remain challenged by the benchmarks.
Favorite Brewing Activity: Wearing lederhosen & clinkin' steins 24/7 comes in a close 2nd to conditioning my mullet in kettle steam.
Not-so-Favorite Brewing Activity: Taking a zwickel to the spine.
